Prince Edward County, just off the 401 between Toronto and Ottawa has emerged over the past several years as one of Southern Ontario’s hippest destinations. If you are entering the County from the western end, just past Brighton, stock up at the Fawn Over Market. With tons of pantry goodies you can purchase enough things here to last you a weekend. Call ahead to order one of their pizzas, with gourmet toppings and a soft fresh bread style crust. One is good enough for four people. For a quick bite to eat, stop at El Torito, in Carrying Place for mouth watering tacos and a side of house made tortilla chips and guac.
Us Torontonians might know Lake Ontario as a deep, cold, dirty lake, but the county brings the best out of it. Sandbanks Provincial Park features warm, shallow, crystal clear waters on a hot day. Not to mention stunning views of the tallest freshwater dunes in the world. Make sure to book ahead, and prepare to be underwhelmed by the washroom and changing facilities.

Feeling peckish after some beaching? Outside of the heavy hitters like the Lakeside Motel and the Drake Devonshire you can venture beyond the main towns for lunch with a view. Cressy Mustard Co. serves up pickerel tacos with stunning views of Smith’s Bay. Their mustards are also worth the trip.

If your wallet is burning a hole in your pocket, the town of Bloomfield’s mainstreet plays host to several interesting boutiques. Kokito carries Hibi incense sticks and soaps and bath bombs from Sage and Thistle. The Wandering Albatross is a travel themed bookstore, featuring a strong selection of books that will definitely not cure your case of wanderlust.
Whether you are finishing off a day of shopping, sipping cocktails lakeside, or covering your sunburn after a day at the beach, our after_ collection sweats and hoodies are a cozy way to end your day in the County.
