What is after_?

Since the feel and fit of our Canadian-made comfies speak for themselves, the name of our core collection, “after_”, seems to be top of mind for the people that we meet. Admittedly, there is an element of mystery at play. after_ shave? after_ eating? after_ …life?

In reality after_ represents the satisfying feeling of accomplishment after whatever gives you purpose and joy. You just killed your workout…we have a stylish and comfortable fit for after. Ready to start your quiet evening in after a hard but satisfying day on the job… we have you covered. That is not to say that any of our sturdy pieces wouldn't be able to handle whatever you throw at them, but our intention was to keep you looking good as you shift into the physical and mental space of relaxation after whatever it is that you do.

But there is another layer to it. From the beginning this brand has been a reflection of our love for Canada, but also our immediate community. If you follow our socials (and you should!) you will see that we are always looking for and promoting fun places and experiences close to home. That is why we decided to give back to an organization right in our backyard, and one that we truly believe in. 

Beyond 3:30 runs after school programs for kids in Toronto public schools. “Beyond” provides homework help, and teaches essential life skills such as cooking and fitness to kids. As an educator I see the impact of having a safe place to go after school has on students in the program. When they are supervised and supported, especially after the school day has finished, they are less likely to spend excessive amounts of time in front of screens or get into trouble. 

As we head into another back to school season we remain committed to contributing 5% of the profits from our after_ collection to Beyond 3:30.
